BirdsRussia is in search of a qualified ornithologist for an expedition to Chukotka

BirdsRussia invites a qualified ornithologist experienced in bird accounting rotes, to participate in the expedition to Chukotka from late May to late July 2019. The duty will take place on fixed routes in the vicinity of Meynypilgyno village on the Spoon-billed sandpiper research station.

Most important features include sufficient physical training, teamwork skills, experience in data processing and field report compilation. Working in the tundra experience is desirable; at least some English knowledge (part of the teamwork will be held in English); and also personal registered hunting weapons to take to Chukotka. Salary is small. More details on discussion.

Preference will be given to men who are not afraid of occasional meetings with brown bears (for 20 years of our fieldwork we had no problems, but bears are present in the region...), not vegetarians. It is advisable to indicate ornithologists who can give you recommendation letters.

Send your interest in participating, along with your resume reflecting the experience of surveys and fieldwork, to Evgeny Syroechkovsky at ees_jr@yahoo.co.uk by March 30, 2019.
